Wooden Waves participates in Region Sörmland's booth at Folk and Culture 🌊🎨
We are proud to announce that the project Wooden Waves participates in Region Sörmland's booth during the cultural political convention Folk and Culture 2026, which takes place February 4–7, 2026 in Munktellstaden in Eskilstuna .
Folk and Culture is Sweden's largest cultural political meeting place for inspiration, experiences, and learning where hundreds of organizers, organizations, cultural actors, and politicians gather for conversations, debates, art, performances, and new knowledge.
What happens in Region Sörmland's booth – and where can you see Wooden Waves ?
Region Sörmland is not only a co-organizer but has a packed program in its booth where you can experience, among other things:

Craft Square – a place for creation, trying out, and being inspired, where Wooden Waves participates with elements about wooden boat craftsmanship and coastal culture together with Stensund Folk High School and Sörmland Museum.

Boat building and wooden boat culture – Niklas Erikson shows how traditional craftsmanship and cultural heritage continue through the project together with Stensund Boat Building School.

Region Sörmland's booth & cinema Röda Näckrosen – film screenings, conversations, and presentations where you can also learn more about cultural projects from Sörmland, meet other actors, and network.
About Wooden Waves
Wooden Waves is a Nordic cultural network that works to highlight and preserve wooden boat tradition, craftsmanship, and coastal culture in Sweden, Finland, and Estonia – with support from Leader Sörmlandskusten and partners. Through our participation in Folk and Culture the project gains a national arena to share experiences, make new contacts, and inspire more to pay attention to living cultural heritage.

Folk and Culture takes place February 4–7, 2026 in Eskilstuna and is open to everyone – with both free elements and program items included in the participant pass. In Region Sörmland's booth in Volvo CE Arena there are activities, VR art hall, conversations, and opportunities to meet Wooden Waves and other cultural initiatives.
